EZ Basic

EZ to say

EZ Basic are a three-piece band from Budapest, Hungary. Formed in 2004 by Árpád Szarvas (guitars, vocals, songwriting) and Dénes Pesztalics (bass), the boys' primary aim was to mix electronic and instrumental music, but it was post-punk, new wave and the underground music of the 1960s that left their marks on EZ Basic's sound. On one hand, the name EZ Basic refers to early 1980s computers/electronics, on the other hand to DIY punk ethics: easy basic as "learn three chords and form a band".

Soon after András Tóth (drums) had joined the band their debut album (Hocus Focus, 2007) was released. After years of relentless touring and playing abroad (Germany, Slovakia, Poland) the band completed their second album (Hello Heavy), which was mixed and mastered by George Shilling, a British producer famous for his work with bands such as Primal Scream, Coldcut, Soup Dragons, Bernard Butler (ex-Suede), The Fall, My Bloody Valentine, etc.
